Hi, I'm Dr Cloie Parfitt. I'm a psychotherapist providing both short-term and long-term therapy to clients online based in the UK and around the world.
I work as an integrative practitioner, drawing upon several major therapeutic approaches and blending these to best suit your individual needs. My core training is in the person-centred and psychodynamic approaches to therapy and each of these approaches influence my work with clients. As a relational therapist, I’m interested in the ways in which our past experiences and relationships affect our current relationships, both with others and with ourselves. Throughout the course of our lives, we are often hurt within relationships, but I believe that it is through meaningful and nurturing relationships that we can also be healed. Likewise, I strongly believe that each person has an innate potential for personal growth and that, given the right circumstances, we can all grow to reach our full potential. My role as your therapist is to create the right environment – one in which you feel safe, accepted, and valued – to explore your emotions, thoughts, and experiences, allowing this growth to take place. Within my private practice, I specialise in working with various types of neurodivergence and this is an area I am immensely passionate about. Having both personal and professional experience regarding autism, I am familiar with the challenges that come with living in a world that is not always accepting or understanding of the neurodivergent. It is my belief that with neurodivergence comes unique talents, and one of my greatest joys as a therapist is helping empower people to utilise these strengths and to live freely and authentically. |
