Why Therapy?

You might have spent a long time trying to make things work.

Pushing through, adapting, holding it all together, often in ways that others don’t see.

From the outside, it might look like you’re coping.
But underneath, things can feel overwhelming, exhausting, or quietly painful in ways that are hard to put into words.

You may feel burnt out from years of masking or over-functioning.
Unsure of who you are beneath it all, or where your needs begin and end.

You might have felt unseen, misunderstood, or dismissed by the very systems that were meant to support you.

And over time, that can leave you questioning yourself.

Therapy can be a space to slow down.

A space to begin making sense of your experiences more clearly, without judgement or pressure, and without having to fit yourself into something that doesn’t feel right for you.

A space where you can gently reconnect with who you are beneath the expectations, the pressure, and the survival strategies.

Thinking about Therapy?

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you’ve had difficult experiences in the past, struggled to find the right words, or have been carrying things on your own for a long time.

You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.

We can take things one step at a time.

In our first session, we’ll explore what’s brought you here, what you’re hoping for, and begin to get a sense of whether this feels like the right fit. There’s space for questions, uncertainty, and going at your own pace.

I offer a calm, collaborative space where we can gently explore what you’re carrying.

My role is to listen deeply, hold space with care, and support you to understand your experiences in a way that feels right for you, without pressure to fit into a particular way of being.

Over time, therapy can support you to reconnect with who you are, honour your needs, and create a life that feels more aligned and sustainable.

You don’t have to do this alone, and you don’t have to rush.

Hi, I’m Cloie

Welcome to a space where you don’t have to mask, shrink, or explain yourself just to feel understood.

I’m Dr Cloie Parfitt, a neurodivergent psychotherapist based in the UK. I support neurodivergent adults and young people, particularly those who have felt unseen or misunderstood, to better understand themselves and move towards a life that feels more authentic and sustainable.

Therapy is a deeply personal journey, and I’m here to walk alongside you. My approach is relational, collaborative, and flexible, creating a space where your experiences are taken seriously, and you can explore what healing and growth look like for you.

This is a space for your full self–the quiet parts, the chaotic parts, the tender and brilliant parts–without pressure to be anything other than who you are.

  • "After receiving my autism diagnosis in my thirties, I felt somewhat relieved, but also completely lost. I’d spent so many years masking that I wasn’t even sure who I really was anymore. Working with Cloie helped me understand not just my autistic identity but my nervous system, my trauma, and why life had always felt so exhausting to me. For the first time, I’m starting to build a life around what actually works for me, rather than forcing myself to fit into places and situations that don’t suit my needs."

  • "I had a lot of anxiety around starting therapy again but from the very first session with Cloie I felt at ease. I didn’t feel like I had to know what to say, be good at therapy, or have everything figured out. Therapy with Cloie felt natural and deeply affirming. Her warmth, honesty, and ability to gently ask the right questions helped me open up in ways I never had before."

  • "When we first came to Dr Cloie Parfitt, my child was struggling a lot with anxiety, overwhelm, and attending school. As a single parent I felt exhausted, lost, and like I was constantly fighting systems on my own. What stood out so quickly was that this wasn’t just therapy for my child, it felt like support for our whole family. Cloie created a space where my child felt safe, understood, and never judged, while also helping me navigate school meetings, the EHCP process, and even a benefits appeal when everything felt incredibly overwhelming. She helped me better understand my child’s nervous system, sensory needs, and the impact of trauma and masking, but also helped me let go of so much guilt and self-doubt as a parent. Over time, we’ve seen such a transformation. My child is now attending school far more regularly, feels more settled in themselves, and our home feels calmer and more connected. I honestly don’t know where we’d be without her support."

  • "I came to therapy with Dr Cloie Parfitt after years of feeling misunderstood, dismissed by professionals, and pushing myself to the point of complete burnout multiple times. I was in the middle of trying to leave a career that had once felt like such a big part of my identity, and honestly, I felt very lost. Cloie understood things I’d never had words for like masking, school trauma, sensory overwhelm, medical trauma, shutdown, and the toll of living in survival mode for so long. I never felt judged or like I was too much. I felt seen, believed, and supported to reconnect with myself in a way I didn’t know was possible."

  • " I’d struggled with therapy in the past because I struggled to express myself clearly and I’d leave sessions feeling frustrated or misunderstood. Working with Cloie felt completely different. She never expected me to have everything figured out or be able to explain myself perfectly. She was patient, warm, and used creative approaches that helped me express things I didn’t know I was carrying like shame and internalised ableism. The psychoeducation alongside therapy was really useful as it helped me understand why certain things were so overwhelming and difficult for me. "
